You can rent this home and stay a weekend with us!
Refuge was built as an opportunity for us to showcase how we build homes. With materials sourced locally, an eye for unique design, and simple features done well, this project embodies what we stand for. Keeping costs under control throughout the process, we were able to design and build this home efficiently, without sacrificing the quality and qualities that we put into every adventure. We invite you to come stay with us at Refuge, if you’re curious about building with us. Keep a record of your stay, and we refund it off our first month’s progress invoice!
This home was built to settle into the forest backdrop. Backing onto a protected creek, and featuring indoor/outdoor living space, where your kitchen and dining room opens directly into the outdoor kitchen/bbq nook, as well as the patio with lounge seating and hot tub.
Steps away from the beach, the project also has a Baja inspired outdoor shower, with bright concrete tiles and a rack for drying wetsuits, swim gear, and towels. A set of stone stairs connects down to the terraced lower yard area, which includes a propane firepit with stone benches, sourced from lizard lake, just up the road.
The interior contains distinctive details, like black kitchen, with black countertops and an oak integrated dining area. The living room and entry are defined spaces while still remaining open concept, with tall ceilings, and feel large for their square footage. A “walk past” closet in the principal ensuite allows great storage space, without sacrificing space for a full walk in closet. The ensuite bathroom has a full shower and double vanity. An office completes the upstairs compliment of rooms.
Downstairs, the home has two bedrooms, a full three piece bathroom, laundry room, mechanical room, and game room/rec room. The walk-out basement with sliding glass door encourages more connection with nature, and frequently sees bears and elk walk right past the rec room door!
We invite you to come experience what we do and how we do it, with a relaxing weekend at Refuge, our Renfrew show home.
